November 24, 2025, BLACK PEARL announces the launch of “No Single Use Fashion”, a global campaign created in partnership with bluesign to challenge disposable fashion culture and inspire a more conscious approach to style.
Merging the worlds of fashion and music, the initiative calls on fans, artists, and event organizers to break the single-use fashion trend and rethink what they wear to live shows. In 2019 alone, more than 7.5 million single-use outfits were purchased for music events, worn once and discarded. No Single Use Fashion aims to redefine what it means to be on-trend, showing that creativity and sustainability can coexist.
The campaign invites fans to take one of three simple pledges – 1. Wear pre-loved pieces sourced second-hand; 2. Customize or DIY what they already own; 3. Hold on to their outfit for at least nine months to reduce waste and extend garment life. Collectively, these small acts can make a measurable difference – cutting carbon emissions, conserving water, and reducing textile waste.
“Fashion and music shape how we see the world, so they also shape how we impact it,” said Samata Pattinson, Founder and CEO of BLACK PEARL. “No Single Use Fashion is about shifting culture as much as shifting habits. When fans, artists, and makers choose to rewear, customize, or cherish what they already own, they’re proving that creativity doesn’t depend on disposability. Partnering with bluesign allows us to connect personal choices with responsible production, making sustainability something people can participate in—not just talk about.”
Through its deep connection to fashion, entertainment, and music, BLACK PEARL is mobilizing a community of artists, fans, and organizers to lead by example. Founded in 2023 by Samata Pattinson, BLACK PEARL has delivered pioneering work for Coachella, CaliVibes, Billie Eilish, and Maggie Baird, working in partnership with The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and numerous major music labels.
Participating artists will promote the campaign before and during shows, encouraging their audiences to pledge and share sustainable looks. BLACK PEARL will log pledges and track collective impact, giving fans tangible insight into the difference their choices make.
“Music moves people, and fashion should too – just not toward waste,” said Barbara Oswald, Chief Commercial Officer at bluesign. “We partnered with BLACK PEARL because this campaign proves that sustainability doesn’t kill creativity, it amplifies it. Clean chemistry, conscious choices, and cultural influence all have the power to shift the fashion industry from disposable to responsible. When artists, fans, and manufacturers unite around that message, we turn concerts into catalysts for change.”
Building on its work on a recent series of sustainable fashion city maps designed to guide fans along Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR toward standout second-hand, repair, rental, and upcycling destinations, BLACK PEARL is now shifting from inspiration to activation. Launching the week after the final tour stop, this next phase evolves the No Single Use Fashion movement by turning its ethos into tangible choices for concertgoers. In addition to raising awareness, the campaign equips fans, artists, and communities with accessible pathways to dress with intention and leave a lasting impact beyond the show.

Campaign merchandise, designed in collaboration with bluesign, demonstrates a cleaner, safer way forward using bluesign certified chemistry and responsible chemistry. Built for longevity, the capsule includes an organic cotton T-shirt and a regenerative hemp hoodie. The merchandise also debuts a digital product passport, bringing transparency to the forefront by giving consumers access to verified data on material origins, production practices, and environmental impact.
With every outfit, we make an impact. This campaign is about ensuring it’s a positive one. Say no to single-use fashion. Hold, go pre-loved, customize, and repeat.
