BLACK PEARL

To revolutionise the discourse on sustainability, it’s vital to alter the tone directing it. Media wields substantial sway, shaping dialogues that encompass ecological and societal facets, impacting our perceptions of the world and our place within it. At BLACK PEARL, we are fervent about narrative construction through digital content creation, spanning TV shows, documentaries, and films. Our aim is to craft a spectrum of representative and inclusive narratives that ignite, inform, mirror our culturally varied society, and foster consciousness.

Media Projects

With a dedicated emphasis on impactful storytelling, we are proud to have participated in these media projects, ‘TEXAS, USA’, ‘OVERHEATED’, ‘SLAY’ and ‘Designing Change’.

TEXAS, USA is a sublimely lensed, rousing cinematic powerhouse telling a whopper of a story about a diverse, charismatic, committed group of Longhorn organizers, activists, and candidates who, rapt with optimism during the 2022 state-wide election campaign and ignoring criticism of what was considered their pie-in-the-sky idealism, campaigned that they could bring about real and lasting progressive change in the Lone Star State. They are a picture of a new kind of Texas politician: Young, progressive and deeply connected to Texas’ Latino culture and history. Associate Producer: Samata Pattinson.

Overheated is centred around one overwhelming question, asked by Billie Eilish herself: are we doing enough? The answer is one which plays on all of our minds, but the film instills us with a sense of hope that inspires change. Because if we can focus on the small, incremental steps that are within our power, together we can change the course of our planet’s future, which is of course the future of the human race. —Yassa Khan. SLAY is a documentary going behind the scenes of the fashion industry to investigate fur, leather and wool, greenwashing and the impact of brands using animal skins on people, planet and animals. Features Samata Pattinson.
