Coachella Valley, CA — BLACK PEARL will lead Casual Fridays: The Sustainable Fashion Challenge at Coachella 2026 in partnership with Global Inheritance, activating a live platform for thrifted, remixed, and sustainably made festival fashion. The initiative positions sustainability at the centre of creative expression, bringing together designers, cultural leaders, and artists to mentor participants and evaluate looks created for the festival environment.

This year’s mentors and judges include Brooklyn Karasack, DJ LEVI, Samata Pattinson, and Jaden Smith, who will collectively select the standout sustainable look of Coachella 2026. Programming included a panel titled “Sustainability + The Future of Fashion”, followed by the live runway competition.
NO SINGLE USE FASHION CAMPAIGN
Central to the activation is BLACK PEARL’s No Single Use Fashion (NSUF) campaign, a cultural sustainability initiative designed to translate artist values into measurable, fan-led environmental impact. NSUF transforms live music environments into active sustainability ecosystems by inviting fans to participate through three simple commitments: Pre-Loved, DIY, and Hold On. These actions encourage audiences to rethink single-use fashion moments at festivals, concerts, and cultural events.
Through fan pledges and real-time participation, NSUF generates trackable environmental impact data for artists, providing a tangible link between cultural influence and sustainability outcomes. Participating artists receive detailed impact reporting alongside content assets that demonstrate authentic sustainability leadership and audience engagement.
As artists continue to shape cultural conversations around sustainability, NSUF addresses a critical gap: measuring how those values translate into real-world behavioural change among fans. By converting audiences from passive observers into active participants, BLACK PEARL redefines the role of fashion in live music culture—positioning it as a collective tool for environmental accountability and cultural change.
