Atelier Jolie, the creative and collaborative space founded by Angelina Jolie, hosted an intimate conversation with designers Chuks Collins of Chuks Collins Official and Thulani Ngazimbi of The Rad Black Kids, both of whom are currently accompanying Ozwald Boateng during his residency at Atelier Jolie.
Rooted in Identity: Culture, Sustainability, and Style From Africa & Beyond was moderated by Samata Pattinson, CEO of BLACK PEARL. The evening featured a powerful dialogue on resilience, identity, and purpose, offering space to reflect on the role of culture and sustainability in shaping design. Guests later gathered with community members to continue the exchange over appetizers and drinks prepared by Eat Offbeat, closing the night in a spirit of connection and celebration.
Atelier Jolie itself is more than a fashion house—it is a space dedicated to sustainability, artisanship, and community. Located in a historic New York City building once home to Jean-Michel Basquiat, it champions the use of deadstock and vintage materials, offers repair and upcycling services, and provides apprenticeships for underrepresented groups. Beyond fashion, it serves as a hub for residencies, workshops, and exhibitions, with a café run in partnership with Eat Offbeat, an organization employing refugee chefs.
By hosting conversations like this one, Atelier Jolie continues its mission to foster collaboration, celebrate creativity, and build a community grounded in conscious consumption and social impact.
