BLACK PEARL joined BCRC-Caribbean in a conversation about the vibrant rich carnival culture in Trinidad and how the challenges with fast-fashion production are heavily replicated across carnival culture.
The BCRC-Caribbean is implementing the programme entitled Eliminating Hazardous Chemicals from
Supply Chains, as one of eight (8) countries worldwide in collaboration with the Government of the Republic
of Trinidad and Tobago, the Global Environment Fund and the United Nations Environment Programme.
The focus of this effort is to influence a shift in the Carnival Fashion Design to be more sustainable thereby promoting the use of raw sustainable materials promoting net zero, nature positive, and pollution-free approaches. This shift will seek to eliminate hazardous chemical pollution from the supply chains within Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival Fashion Industry.
