June 25, 2025, Amsterdam, Netherlands — ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) commemorated a decade of leadership in sustainable fashion and footwear at its 10th Anniversary Gala, held at the historic Oosterhuiszaal (Rode Hoed), Keizersgracht 102, Amsterdam. The venue’s unique blend of 17th-century heritage and modern comfort set the perfect stage for this milestone celebration.
Founded in 2011, ZDHC is a global multi-stakeholder organisation dedicated to eliminating hazardous chemicals from the textile, leather, and footwear supply chains. Over the past decade, ZDHC has transformed the industry through the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), the ZDHC Gateway platform, the Roadmap to Zero Programme, and global training initiatives via the ZDHC Academy. ZDHC’s work has empowered brands, suppliers, and chemical companies worldwide to adopt safer chemical management practices, reduce pollution, protect water resources, and drive industry-wide sustainability.
The ZDHC Impact Day Gala not only honoured significant supply chain milestones but also marked the launch of ZDHC’s Impact 2030 strategy, which will further scale the MRSL and safer chemical practices across new sectors and regions.
A highlight of the evening was a sustainable fashion showcase curated by the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI), featuring innovative collections from AMFI alumni designers Samuel Schuurmans, Sophie Priem, Mantas Krikstaponis, Roze Paars, Pauline Blind, and Melina Poelderl. Each designer presented work that reimagines materials, champions circularity, and pushes the boundaries of sustainable fashion, underscoring AMFI’s leadership in sustainability, digitalisation, and creative collaboration.
