BLACK PEARL’s Culture@ initiative celebrates cultural expression through style, exploring identity across age, race, class, and beyond. It amplifies voices, preserves legacies, and weaves a global narrative of diverse expression.
At Climate Week NYC 2024, BLACK PEARL—alongside photographer Mariama Hutson—captured the richness of cultural styles and accessories to showcase the visual power of fashion in telling stories of sustainability.
During Climate Week NYC, BLACK PEARL spotlighted the powerful intersection of fashion, culture, and sustainability. We invited attendees to share the stories behind their outfits, revealing how clothing can reflect heritage, identity, and purpose, as well as showcase design solutions that are considerate of both people and the planet.
Every garment carried meaning—stories of tradition, values, and mindful choices—amplifying a multitude of voices through the language of fashion. This initiative highlighted that what we wear isn’t just about style; it’s a form of cultural storytelling rooted in both personal and global narratives.
By honoring the deeper significance of clothing, we demonstrated how fashion can spark conversations around sustainability. Climate Week NYC brought together leaders from across sectors, making it the perfect platform to show how fashion can foster connection and drive meaningful change.
