The CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2024, organised by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) of the United Nations ITC Agency and with the support of the City of Milan, will take place on 22 September 2024 in the setting of Teatro alla Scala.The awards acclaim personalities and organizations that have stood out for their vision, innovation, devotion to craft, recognition of differences, circular economy, human rights, environmental justice and biodiversity.
BLACK PEARL presented the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Award for Circular Economy. In its third year, the Award for Circular Economy recognized leaders implementing circular principles to reduce waste and pollution, circulate materials, and regenerate nature.
In 2024, Diesel won for integrating these principles into their business through partnerships that eliminate waste in product development, extend product life, and creatively repurpose materials. Their initiatives include Diesel Rehab Denim and Diesel x UNIDO, focusing on recycling and resale through Diesel Second Hand and Diesel Loves.Arc’Teryx and Vestiaire Collective were also shortlisted for their circular business efforts. Arc’Teryx received a special mention for its Alpha Stores, which combine retail with circular practices like repair and re-commerce through their ReBIRD platform, demonstrating the effectiveness of stacking circular models to enhance economic benefits.
