At BLACK PEARL, we firmly believe that all creative industries should play a pivotal role in discussions surrounding climate impact.
That’s why, at COP28 in the UAE, we had the incredible opportunity to engage in a compelling conversation with Dame Ellen MacArthur of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, focusing on the vital intersection of the #circulareconomy and #climateaction. Specifically, our dialogue centred on achieving the Pathway to Paris goals, aiming to pave the fashion industry’s Runway to net zero emissions.
Our Founder and CEO, Samata Pattinson FRSA, had the honour of hosting a fireside dialogue with Dame Ellen MacArthur at COP28, an event aligned with the United Nations FCC Global Climate Action. It was an extraordinary privilege! As advocates for infusing Culture into COP conversations through the lens of design and fashion, we recognise Dame Ellen MacArthur’s pioneering role in championing #circulardesignsolutions and #climateaction. Meanwhile, Samata’s wealth of experience brings a strong cultural perspective to this critical discourse.
Stay tuned for our comprehensive summary encapsulating the experience from the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations FCCC. In the meantime, feel free to connect with us here or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re passionate about broadening our community and fostering meaningful dialogues!
